In Rakuten Taiwan, we develop mainly two mobile applications. The team is focusing on consumerfacing UI/UX for each Rakuten marketplace's Android and iOS applications by interacting with all stakeholders, including Product Owner, UI/UX designers, and QA. You will work on Rakuten core e-commerce service and collaborate with the international team in Japan.
【Responsibilities】
As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, frontend and backend engineers, to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with the team through code reviews and regular knowledge sharing sessions.
• Remain up-to-date on the latest iOS technologies, frameworks, and design patterns.
• Continuously look for ways to improve development processes and methodologies.
• Optimize application performance, ensuring a smooth and responsive user experience.
• Develop leadership by participating in leading software architecture design, establishing coding standards, and adopting best practices for iOS development within the project team.
We are looking for experienced iOS Engineers with the potential to grow into a Lead role. Candidates who demonstrate strong technical expertise and leadership qualities will be groomed for future Lead iOS Engineer positions.
【Minimum Qualifications】
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- At least 3 years' experience in iOS native application development (Swift as primary).
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming principles, and code optimization techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
- Ability to take initiative and drive projects independently.
【Preferred Qualifications】
- Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable and maintainable architectures, such as MVVM, Clean Architecture.
- Familiarity with iOS security best practices and data protection techniques.
- Experience with agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/ CD) practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English (fluency preferred).
