Job Description

As a Python Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and deploying enterprise-level Conversational AI products. Your responsibilities will include writing reusable, testable, and efficient code, designing and implementing low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications, and integrating user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic. You will also be responsible for implementing security and data protection, integrating data storage solutions, performance tuning, usability improvement, automation, and collaborating with design and product teams to understand end-user requirements and provide technical solutions.

A typical day involves coordinating closely with the frontend team, product manager, designer, coder, tester, and client to ensure clear communication and understanding of expectations and deliverables. You will conduct research, discuss plans with the team, and ensure that everyone is working with the right information. Maintaining clear and concise documentation for all code written is essential to ensure thorough understanding and effective communication within the team. You will focus on productive, efficient, and effective coding, build automated pipelines to deploy tested code reliably to a robust and scalable infrastructure, and be responsive and responsible for feedback on your work while providing thoughtful, constructive feedback on others' work.

• Fluent in English
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Tornado, or other Python frameworks
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Proficiency with ORM libraries and relational databases, Redis, and ElasticSearch
• Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Understanding of coroutine, threading, and multi-process architecture
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization across multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications
• Strong unit testing and debugging skills
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
• Experience working in Scrum and Agile teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Good understanding of asynchronous frameworks
• Knowledge of performance testing frameworks
• Familiarity with event-driven programming in Python
• Understanding of accessibility and security compliance
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions or similar tools
